Hello. I'm Robert Lyon...

Robert has been involved in the Theatre from a very young age, first performing at Theatre Clwyd, Mold at the age of 8 years old with the local Hawarden Institute for Acting.

At the age of twelve, Robert began to take classes in Dance, Singing, and Acting at Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Chester under the tuition of Karen and George Partington, Rachel Wynn, Tim Jones, Charlotte Roberts and Karen Jewell. Whilst attending, he was fortunate enough to play the roles of Professor Higgins in My Fair Lady, Slomo in Fame, Skinlad in Road and Tony in West Side Story. During this time, he also become involved with Castaway Youth Theatre, playing roles such as Smee in Peter Pan, Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz, Fagin in Oliver!, Rico in Copacabana and Bullfrog in Honk! performing at The Gateway Theatre, Chester and The Civic Hall, Ellesmere Port.

Robert initially attended Hawarden High School, but later moved at the age of thirteen to The Hammond School in Chester. Here, Robert gained even more opportunity to get involved in Theatre, performing as Mr Brocklehurst in Jane Ayre, Hans in Grim Tales Hansel and Gretel, and Algernon in The Importance of Being Ernest (amongst other roles) under the careful guidance of Mandy Hatfield. Having completed his GCSE’s, Robert moved onto Sir John Deane’s College for sixth form, gaining A Levels in Music, Drama, Media, and Performance Studies; and whilst there, played roles including Pilate in Jesus Christ Superstar. Teachers Josie Wilson and Tim Clarke were of particular help during this time.

At eighteen years old Robert was awarded a scholarship to attend Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, which was a dream come true for him. During this time Paul Sabey served as an inspiring head to the musical theatre department. Robert was also very thankful to work with Sam Spencer-Lane, Cressida Carre, Sally-Anne Gritton, Cath Baxter, Sean McLevy and Ken Caswell; and whilst in training, took roles such as Billy in Billy Liar, Oscar in Sweet Charity, Claude in Hair, Sergeant in Pirates of Penzance and Dr Henry Patterson in The Witches of Eastwick.

Robert graduated in 2007 with a BA in Performance (2:1).
